The assigned investigator uses methods appropriate to the engagement and applicable law. Updates, photographs, video, public-record research, source documents, and final reporting are provided when relevant to the assignment. Scope changes are discussed before additional work is undertaken.

No inspection can guarantee that every device will be found, especially when areas are inaccessible, devices are inactive, or conditions change after the inspection.
